MaxPass & The Disneyland App. Initial Reactions & Reviews

As I shared over the weekend we are headed to Disneyland this week for a few days. It is a busy time of year to visit Disneyland but going back to Disneyland is a special experience full of great memories, great history and great fun. It is one of our favorites as a family. Today, our experiences is surrounded by the Disneyland App.

Each year, over 18 million people visit Disneyland annually.  Over the last several, I have put together a list of tips and tricks for visiting Disneyland.

After my two days with MaxPass & the Disneyland App, I thought it was worth a share with our readers. MaxPass is an experience that Disneyland rolled out  about 12 months ago however I had not had the opportunity to experience it the last time in the park. Coupled with The Disneyland App it has taken the Disney experience to a new level!

Integration & Usability Works Well:

I am a fan of the Disneyland App! Disney has done a great job of providing great resources at your finger tips. The Disneyland App provides amazing conveniences for you throughout your visit of the park. It includes basic information like park hours, estimated attraction wait times and even includes daily show times. They have also included great amenities such as being able to reserve dining, order food (see more below) and holds all of your plans (FastPass, reservations, etc.) neatly within the app. The most important thing to do when you begin using the Disneyland App is to link your tickets to your Disneyland account. That unlocks all the great features of the Disneyland App and also creates an integrated and seamless experience for all things Disneyland.  Well done Disney![/vc_column_text]

MaxPass Is $10 Per Person, Per Day.  It Is Expensive.

The cost of using MaxPass is $10 per day per person, per day when you are visiting the park.  It is a $75 add-on for annual passport holders. It gives you additional functionality integrated into the App that allows you to save time in line by making FastPass selections on your mobile device.  Guests with park hopper tickets can even make selections for attractions in other theme parks (e.g. both Disneyland & California Adventure). In addition, you can capture all of your memories with Disney PhotoPass which his a great way to collect an capture amazing Disney memories while you are in the park. It still has the same limitations as FastPass. I would definitely encourage users to review the their site for all the details. We quickly came to enjoy the convenience of making FastPass reservations from anywhere in the park. That includes our hotel across the street. From my rough estimates, about 30% of riders we saw were using the app! It looks like they are on to something.

Dining Experience Rocks. Reservations & Ordering Food:

One of the tips in my last update was to make reservation when you are in the park. This is not only for special events (e.g. character breakfasts, special dining experiences, etc.) but any time we eat in the park. Overall, it is a great way to enhance your experience With the Disneyland App, you can make and manage reservations directly. This offers a very similar experience to what you have access to online (menus, party size, location, etc.) In addition, Disney has added an ‘order food’ option which is a great way to make purchase food at select dining locations. You can also have it ready at the arrival window when are in the area.  They have done a great job on menu integration, times that you can choose from (e.g. works in 30 minute increments) and when you have arrived you simply let them know and your order will be ready in minutes. We used it both nights we were there for ice cream and we loved it! This is one to definitely add to your toolkit when in the park!

Remember that life is a game never won or lost, only played.
